Dragon age absolution gay characters

Last edited by Dexter ; at PM. So I finally got around to watching and I have thoughts. These relationships are just as important as romantic ones, as they add depth and complexity to the characters and the story. An LGBT-Friendly Franchise Bioware and Edge of Reality's video game franchise, Dragon Age, is a fantasy role-playing game series.

So far I was unable to get past episode 2, so dull! Inclusivity and Representation So, is Dragon Age Absolution gay? Reply With Quote. Last Jump to page:. A lot of the character motivation pop the hell out of nowhere. This show sucked The only thing it had going was the lore around it as its basis from the Dragon Age franchise, and even with that it falls flat on its face.

The art style really lacked an identity throughout, but I still liked it when it was good, but quality was very inconsistent at times, the backgrounds looked bland too, Dragon Age always has interesting location, but here it felt like I had seen this in a lot of animations over the last 5 years.

Dragon Age Absolution also features non-romantic relationships, such as friendships and familial bonds. I hope this season is a learning experience for the team and they make something better with season 2. Its been done to death so many times, while this adds nothing new.

BioWare’s commitment to inclusivity in gaming has really stood out to me, particularly in its portrayal of LGBT characters, especially gay males. As a consequence, I had zero hype and zero interest for this when it was announced; and after watching the trailer, I want to watch it even less.

Not only that but I would be okay with played out plots but others have done it a lot better than this. I’m diving into the fascinating world of Gender, Sexuality, and Culture for a paper, and I’ve chosen the Dragon Age series as my focus. Remember Me? Need an account?

The first game set up a great world with interesting features, and then somehow everything that came after just turned more and more ridiculous somehow, until it felt like someone had been given a writing prompt and was doing their darnedest to just spin that prompt over and over and over again.

The Villain of this show I liked at first before he was revealed as the villain, but his motivations for being a villain felt very weak, it just kind of happened out of nowhere, and I would have believed it if there was more build but it just happened too fast, especially when you consider where he started from and sure he is messing with blood magic and he is a Tavinter mage and Tavinter mages are known to be assholes, but he felt more like some anime villain.

Recent Forum Posts PM. Thread: [Netflix] Dragon Age: Absolution. The best part of the show was the ending, as I said I liked Dragon Age 2 and that ending made me at least interested enough to watch season 2. The answer is a resounding yes. Unfortunately this show didn't have any good characters, while some had moments, most of the characters had one architype.

That's not Dragon Age, it's some shitty generic Disneyesque cartoon with cringe dialogue. The animation also seemed to verge on many different styles, from bad CGI that looked really dated with the drawn animation and then sometimes the animation would flick to this anime style at times then back to western animation again.

The lead character Mirium is just bitter and one dimensional and unlikable, and while I understand considering her upbringing, it just falls flat and you don't have enough investment to want her to overcome the horrors of her past, and this show actually got me to hate an Ashley Burch performance, and its not her fault, she did great with what she was given but I was not a fan of how this female Qunari was portrayed, she came off like some valley girl, or a forgotten cast member of Totally Spies disguised as a Qunari, it felt so out of place.

Any show thst opens the first minutes with gay romance is bound to be shite. With a great storyline, fun gameplay, character. Absolutely will not watch. My Account. Register Now. Recent Blue Posts 3 mins ago. Community content is available under CC-BY-SA unless otherwise noted.

I'll get to that soon I think they just wanted this charming bad guy, but he was neither convincing as either The only other likable character died in the second episode, after betraying his team for reasons giving in the end. The other characters are not that great either, the dwarf was your typical headstrong dwarf stereotype, and you already had that with the lead, Miriums love interest is also bland and has no personality except she loves the main character, also there is the ending that gives her some merit, but I'll get to that later.

The strength of Dragon Age has always been its characters as in they usually carry their games, from Alistair to Morrigan, from Avaline to Varric to Blackwall to Viviane every game just has strong interesting diverse characters and thats what always keep me hung on. As I revisit the games for research, I’m curious to hear your thoughts on their representation.

It released its first game, Dragon Age Origins, in and its latest, Dragon Age: Inquisition, in It's an exceptional series that has won the hearts - and spare time - of thousands of players across the world. The story was also so played out.
